Worst Career Moment
This was the first time that Michael decided to quit a good and well-paid job. At the time he didn’t have any money saved and he owned an expensive apartment in Chicago. However, Michael felt that it was something he needed to do to get his career heading in the right direction.
Career Highlight
Acquiring his first six figure business. It was the first time that he had to deal directly with customers and his own money was involved. He found that the ups and downs of the business affected his mood every day. But finding out after the first month that he could do it and that it was what he should be doing was fantastic.
Many of us aren’t the greatest zero to one entrepreneurs, so the trick for Michael was to pick up a business that was already running and successful.
The Future
Michael has always noticed that there aren’t a lot of older engineers around in organisations due to the typical promotion path into management.
By acquiring a business you can be at the front of the business and continue to work on the fun stuff. It’s great to know that these opportunities will continue into the future.
